About Dr. Artan Emini
Dr. Artan Emini was born and raised in the Southwest suburbs of Chicago, IL. Growing up, Dr. Emini played soccer which allowed him to travel internationally to Latin America and Europe to play with professional development teams for months at a time. His love for the game continued and went on to play for Quincy University in Quincy, IL, one of the top Division II programs in the country. In Quincy, he spent many hours working in a mixed animal practice across the Mississippi River in Palmyra, Missouri. There he developed a passion for cattle and horses. He received a B.S. in Biology from Quincy University and then traveled due south to Eureka Springs, Arkansas to complete a 6 month internship in animal care and husbandry at Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge (TCWR). As part of the animal care staff, Dr. Emini learned to care for, feed, and train large exotic animals such as lions, tigers, savannah cats, and brown and black bears.
Following his time at TCWR, Dr. Emini, a lifelong Buckeye fan, moved to Columbus, OH to pursue a degree in veterinary medicine at The Ohio State University. He went on to receive his DVM degree from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2022.
Throughout veterinary school, Dr. Emini had an interest in both small and large animals. Although his passion for equine medicine remains, he joins Lanvale Animal Hospital solely as a small animal veterinarian and has since focused his interests on orthopedic repair and surgery. Dr. Emini also has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery such as laparoscopic elective procedures, and reproduction.
In his free time, you can find Dr. Emini outdoors, commonly hiking Appalachian trails and taking his 4X4 off-roading at the OBX of North Carolina. As an avid snowboarder, Dr. Emini loves to travel to numerous resorts across the United States to enjoy the fresh powder under his board. He currently lives at home with his spunky long-haired cat, Beau, and his Bernese Mountain Dog, Goose, who both love to tag along on his outdoor adventures.
Dr. Emini is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care for your pets and committed to surgical advancements in veterinary medicine. He firmly believes in the veterinarian-client-patient relationship and its importance in keeping both your dogs and cats healthy!
